No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has revised examination timings for CUET-UG 2026 at several centres after a technical glitch delayed the commencement of the examination on May 30. According to the agency, the disruption was caused by a service issue affecting Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), impacting the start of the Common University Entrance Test at select locations. The issue has since been resolved, and the NTA stated that compensatory arrangements have been implemented to ensure that no candidate is disadvantaged. Under the revised schedule, candidates appearing in the afternoon session are required to report from 2:30 PM, while the examination will commence at 4:00 PM instead of the previously scheduled 3:00 PM.
The NTA stated that candidates appearing in the morning session are being provided the full duration of the examination and will be permitted to leave only after completing the paper. The agency expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to students and parents and said that measures have been taken to prevent any academic loss resulting from the delay. The NTA also noted that revised schedules have already been issued for certain rescheduled examinations, with additional test dates scheduled for May 31, June 6, and June 7, 2026. CUET-UG serves as the national-level entrance examination for admission to undergraduate programmes in central, state, and private universities across the country.
